A U.S. Public Health Service Investigator discovered the study and tried unsuccessfully to stop it. He sent information about the <a href="http://www.cdc.gov/tuskegee/"><strong>Tuskegee Study</strong> </a>to a newspaper after he retired. The rest is history.
